GO FISH

This takes place the night after the night Annie and Jude first made love.
They haven't spoken since.  They didn't speak at Olivia's party when she got
drunk.  And Bette and AJ are together in this.

Annie is at the Media Center taking something out of a desk drawer.  Jude
walks out of his office and sees her.

JUDE: What are you doing?

ANNIE: Getting something I left in my desk.

JUDE: You were here long enough to leave something?

ANNIE: Very funny.

She walks away.  After a few moments he goes after her and grabs her by the
arm.

JUDE: We need to talk.

ANNIE: About what?  We both know what happened...and what won't happen.

Jude pulls her into the empty office they're standing by and shuts the door.

JUDE: A lot happened last night, Annie.  And we need to talk about it.

ANNIE: I thought we agreed we were using each other and that it didn't mean
anything?

JUDE: You know that none of that's true.  I never used you, you never used
me, and it did mean something.  I felt, you had to have felt it too.

ANNIE: I...

Suddenly the ground begins to violently shake.  They grab onto each other.
It's a pretty big earthquake.  When it's over they smile at how they panicked
a bit.  The there is an explosion.  They're tossed across the room and part
of the building collapses.  They're trapped.  After a few minutes pass Annie
begins to stir.  She wakes up and sees Jude unconscious.  She crawls over to
him to make sure he's okay and wake him up.  She has a cut over her left
eye.

ANNIE: Jude, wake up.  Please, wake up.

His arm moves.

ANNIE: Oh, thank God.  Jude come on, we have to find a way out of this
place.

He lifts his head and opens his eyes, then sits up.

JUDE: What was that?

ANNIE: An earthquake.

JUDE: Some shaker.  I think there was more to it though.

ANNIE: What do you mean?

JUDE: The earthquake stopped, then I think their was some type of explosion.

ANNIE: We've got to find a way out of here.

JUDE: I'll look around.

He gets up and looks around their surroundings.

ANNIE: Anything?

JUDE: I don't want to move the debris and have it collapse on us and there
doesn't seem to be an opening.

ANNIE: So we're stuck?

JUDE: Afraid so.

He sees her shiver a little.  She's wearing a suit similar o what she wore
when they made love.

JUDE: Cold?

ANNIE: A little.

He takes off his coat and drapes it over her shoulders.

ANNIE: Thank you.

JUDE: Hopefully we'll be found soon.

ANNIE: That eager to get away from me?

JUDE: It's not that.  No one was supposed to be here though.

ANNIE: So they might not even look.

JUDE: Well, when they see a collapsed building with two cars parked out
front they'll have to realize that someone's in here.  We probably have some
time to pass though.

He starts looking through the drawers of the furniture.

ANNIE: What are you doing?

JUDE: Looking for something to do.

ANNIE: Oh.

JUDE: And I think I found it.

He pulls out a deck of cards.

ANNIE: Cards?

JUDE: Yeah.  Come on, Annie, it's an honored pass time.  We've got time to
pass too.

ANNIE: Fine, fine, whatever.

JUDE: You really do have an enormous chip on your shoulder.

ANNIE: Don't start with me, I'm having a bad day and I have to be stuck in
here, so let's not make it worse.

JUDE: You're a tough person to get to know, aren't you?

ANNIE: You might say.  I have my reasons.

JUDE: Okay.  We'll play...Go Fish.  Every time one of us has to go fish
we'll reveal something that we've never told anyone before.  It's a good way
to get to know each other.  And every time we get a pair, we get to ask a
question and the truthful answer must be given.

ANNIE: You want to get to know me?

JUDE: You're a complex mystery, Annie.  I'd like to know, because deep down
I think there is a person with a big heart in there.  You let me see a
little of that last night.

ANNIE: I let you see a lot more.

JUDE: Well...

ANNIE: Okay, let's play.

JUDE: Okay, you can go first.

ANNIE: Thank you.  Do you have a ... seven.

JUDE: No, I don't.  Okay, give up one piece of information about you.

ANNIE: I don't like peas.

JUDE: Annie...

ANNIE: We never said it had to be something huge.  Let's ease into this.

JUDE: My turn.  Do you have a queen?

ANNIE: Yes, I do.

JUDE: Ask way and hand over to card.

ANNIE: Okay, last night.  Did you really want me to come home with you, or
were you just being cordial?

JUDE: I wouldn't have asked you if I didn't want you there.

ANNIE: Good, it's your turn again.

JUDE: Do you have a six?

ANNIE: Go fish.

JUDE: Okay.  I am very disappointed you didn't come home with me last night.

ANNIE: Do you have a jack?

JUDE: Tough luck tonight, go fish.

ANNIE: I wanted to come home with you last night.

JUDE: Well, that's a lot better than "I don't like peas."

The game continues and they start over after Annie won the first game.
They've started again and things are getting more intimate.  Annie has to go
fish right now.

ANNIE: Okay, okay, I guess you can win this game.  Okay...I've never
actually been in love.

JUDE: Not even with Gregory?

ANNIE: I think I made myself believe I loved him, because I wanted him to
love me so badly.

JUDE: That's a good one.  I don't think I've had that feeling yet either.

ANNIE: Really?

JUDE: Yeah.  What about now, anyone special?

ANNIE: You never know when something unexpected happens.

The game has progressed and Annie's giving out something she's never told
anyone.

ANNIE: I trust you, and we know nothing goes beyond these walls, or lack of
walls.

JUDE: You trust me?

ANNIE: Yeah, but that's not what I was about to say.  I was about to tell
you that I followed Amy to South Central one day where I met this Voodoo
priestess who I bought a potion from.  A potion to make Olivia lush.  And
it's working, but I don't like seeing what it is doing to her family.  They
don't deserve it.

JUDE: Annie...

ANNIE: I know, I am a terrible person.  Olivia is probably right, I will go
to hell.  Oh well, let's finish this game.

JUDE: Do you have an ace?

ANNIE: Go fish.

JUDE: Okay, this is probably going to hurt more people that what you should
told me.

ANNIE: I doubt it.

JUDE: Annie you cannot say anything about this or everything will be ruined,
you can't let on to him that you know.

ANNIE: What?  Jude, I don't understand.

JUDE: Annie, promise me.  If what I think is friendship that swear to me
that you won't let him, or anyone else know.

ANNIE: You're probably my best friend right now.  I promise.

JUDE: I am an undercover FBI agent working to bring down Gregory.  He's been
pretending to be Uncle Tobias and I have been not only pretending to be the
managing director at the Liberty Corporation, but working with Gregory.

ANNIE: He's alive.

JUDE: I couldn't tell you, Annie.  And now you can't tell anyone.

ANNIE: Oh my God.

JUDE: Annie?

ANNIE: I promise.

JUDE: Thank you.

She stand up and he stands next to her, she's crying.

ANNIE: He's going to try and kill me, Jude.

JUDE: I won't let him, Annie.  You're my friend, possibly more if you'll let
it.  I care too much to let you die at his hands.

They're facing each other and look into each other's eyes.  They kiss, then
look at each other.

JUDE: Are you sure, Annie?  I mean you've had a lot to deal with today,
maybe this isn't a good idea.

ANNIE: I need you.

JUDE: I needed to hear that.

They kiss and begin to make love.  Keep in mind they're in an office which
has a sofa, which is where they head.  As they're making love (the Lenny
Kravitz song "I Belong to You" is playing in the background.) Bette and AJ
are driving around outside.  There is no damage to the town.  But they drive
up to the Media Center and Bette sees it before AJ.  It's day time now.

BETTE: Oh my sweet big guy in the sky.  AJ, look.

AJ: Oh my God.

BETTE: AJ, there are two cars in front.  One of them is Annie's.

AJ: I know the other one, it belongs to Jude.

BETTE: They've got to have been trapped in there all night.

AJ: I'll call for help.

He does, soon there are fire engines, police cars, and EMS vans surrounding
the building.  Inside Annie and Jude are laying together.

ANNIE: So, you can live with all of the cruel things I've done?

JUDE: Yeah, because I know you.  You do have a heart, Annie.

ANNIE: Some people might argue.  First thing I do when I get out of this is
try and get Olivia to stop drinking, confess, and beg for mercy.

JUDE:Then you'll come home with me.  Right?

ANNIE: Yes, I will.  No man has ever wanted me for that long.

JUDE: I want you for a lot longer than that.

ANNIE: I hate to bring this up, but if we're going to be rescued do we
really want firemen and police seeing us naked?

JUDE: Good point.

Outside Bette and AJ stand by looking frantically at the rescue workers.

BETTE: AJ, they have to find them.

AJ: The chief just told me that they're going to blast through some of the
rubble to get in.

BETTE: How could this happen?  No other buildings were destroyed.

AJ: The chief also said it looked as though there was a bomb in the
building.

BETTE: Who would want to destroy the Media Center?

AJ: I don't know, Bette.  I don't know.

Inside, amongst a LOT of rubble, Annie and Jude are now dressed and kissing.
Suddenly some of the debris begins to shake and there is another blast.
They're thrown to the ground and a large piece of the wall falls on Annie's
leg.

JUDE: Hold on, Annie.  Are you okay?

ANNIE: As well as I can be.  I can't move my leg.

JUDE: Okay, let me get this off.

He tries to pull it off.  It's too heavy.

JUDE: Do you think you could help pull it up with me?

ANNIE: Won't hurt to try.

They struggle to get off and finally do.  Jude helps Annie up.  She leans on
him.

JUDE: Can you walk?

ANNIE: A little.

JUDE: There's an opening through the door.  We should try and get out.  Are
you still cold?  Here, take my jacket back.

They walk out.  The place is a mess.  It's worse than when the resort
project was destroyed and Gabi and Antonio were stuck.  It's amazing they've
made it out with this small amount of injury.

JUDE: We're almost there, I think.

ANNIE: Good.  Then I can apologize and ask forgiveness and we can go back to
your place.

JUDE: Yeah, our home.

ANNIE: Jude-

JUDE: Wait, I think I see light.

ANNIE: Oh, good.

They struggle towards it.  Jude picks up Annie in his arms and carries her
out.  They see a bunch of people.  AJ and Bette run up to them.  Annie and
Jude are both covered in dirt and have a few bruises and scratches.

BETTE: Oh, thank you sweet G, you're okay, you're okay.  Right, you're okay.

JUDE: Just a few scratches.

ANNIE: And I think I broke my leg when the wall fell on me.

AJ: A wall fell on you?

ANNIE: Yeah, we're okay though.

BETTE: Are you sure you're okay, Poopsie?

ANNIE: I'm fine.  We're fine.

JUDE: Better than fine.  We're perfect.

BETTE: What did you two do in there?

ANNIE: Played 'Go Fish.'

BETTE: You played cards?

JUDE: Yeah, we made the most of our time.

The fire chief approaches them.

CHIEF: You two will have to head to the hospital now to get checked out.
Mr. Cavanaugh over here in this ambulance.  Ms. Douglas in the other.

JUDE: We go together.

CHIEF: That's not possible.

JUDE: I don't have anything wrong with me, she's almost that well off.  We
ride together and that's it.

ANNIE: He's my friend, I want him there.

JUDE: That's right.  We love each other, I'm not leaving her side.

CHIEF: Fine, fine.

A week later.

ANNIE: So, now that we're together and now that Olivia hates me more than
she ever did, Aunt Bette's never been more disappointed, and basically all
but three people at the most aren't talking to me, what are we going to do?

JUDE: Play 'Go Fish'?

ANNIE: Sounds like a plan to me.  Are you going to arrest Gregory soon?

JUDE: I hope so.  I might have information to link him to the bombing at the
Media Center.  I'll take care of it, I don't want you to worry.  I love you.

ANNIE: I love you too.
